1950 commemorative cover celebrating the centennial of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad. Cachet text reads “100th anniversary of the Old Reliable” and “private builder and public servant for 100 years.”

Cover is franked with single copy of Scott 987 (3¢ American Bankers Association). Mailed to C. P. Reid of the Marianna Sales Co. in Memphis, Tennessee, and postmarked on March 5, 1950, with Cincinnati & Nashville RPO duplex cancellation.

Insert inside cover reproduces cachet and includes printed note reading, “Thought you might like to have the cachet, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad, that encloses this note. If you aren’t a philatelist yourself, perhaps you have a friend who’d like to have it for his collection.” Note is signed by division freight agent W. C. Dillard.

Cover exhibits some minor wear to corners but is in very good condition overall.
