Fir Trees

Forests cover nearly one-third of Germany, and of the trees in them, approximately 2% are fir trees.1 A European silver fir in Bavarian Forest National Park is among the tallest with a height of about 175 feet, but historical records indicate a Black Forest specimen grew to 225 feet tall.2 3
