Fields
Canada
Subfreezing temperatures are not uncommon even in Canada’s southernmost provinces, but that does not prevent the country from being a major food producer. In 2013, approximately 41,000 square miles of land was covered by wheat fields—more than half of that in Saskatchewan, which has been called “Canada’s breadbasket”—while canola, barley, soybeans, corn, and oats are also important crops.1 2 3
