China

China, which covers over 7.3 million square miles of Earth’s surface, is the fourth largest country in the world.¹ This vast territory encompasses everything from mountains and deserts to well-watered deltas, and gives China what The World Factbook describes as an “extremely diverse” climate.

The design of the Taiwanese stamp shown here is based on a landscape painting by Madame Chiang Kai-shek, the wife of the longtime president of China and Taiwan.^{2 3}
