Austrian Forest
Austria
One of Austria’s major natural resources is timber, which should be no surprise since forests cover nearly half of the nation’s total land area.1 Portions of the Austrian Forest have been damaged by soil and air pollution, a fact to which the design of the pictured souvenir sheet alludes.2 Nevertheless, many of the wooded areas nestled around the country’s valleys and mountains remain lush and verdant.
