The Amazon River is not only one of the world’s most famous rivers, but one of its biggest. The Amazon is the second longest river on Earth, flowing approximately 4,000 miles across South America, and the largest by volume.1
Along much of the Amazon River, the canoe is the primary means of transportation, as illustrated by the stamp shown here.2
