US Scott 942 3¢ Iowa Statehood Centennial on cover with attractive cachet picturing eagle, ships, and airplanes along with caption “‘Somewhere’ with the U.S. Naval Forces” and handwritten “Yugoslavia.”
Postmarked on board the USS Robert L. Wilson (DD-847) on September 12, 1946, during its first tour of duty in the Mediterranean, and mailed to Thomas Mason of Denver, Colorado.
Cover has some minor edge wear and a spot of discoloration near top of cachet, but is otherwise in sound condition.
