The Philosateleian is the U.S. stamp album I designed for my own collection. I'm making the pages available to you for free.

Like most stamp collectors, I used a variety of commercial albums during my first few years in the hobby. In the late-1990's I decided to design my own stamp album, and it served me well. Nevertheless, over the years I discovered a few things I would have done differently, and I kept those in mind while designing The Philosateleian.

One of the main differences between The Philosateleian and most other albums is that I've grouped together stamps belonging to clearly-defined sets regardless of how they're numbered in catalogues. For example, spaces for all 64 major varieties from the "Great Americans" issue of 1980-99 appear on four consecutive pages of the album. Likewise, all of the pages for the World War II sheets of 1991-95 can be grouped together without displacing other issues. I think that makes more sense than does arbitrarily splitting up sets and having to search for them later.

I plan to release four to six updates per year to keep The Philosateleian as current as possible. That means you'll always have free pages containing spaces for stamps you're seeing on your mail right now--no more waiting around to buy expensive supplements for stamps issued two years ago!
